Helping Families Navigate ADHD
Reading Time
3 mins

You, Me & ADHD also delivers talks for parents, SEND family organisations, support groups, community hubs and local authority events across the UK. These sessions create open and honest conversations around the realities of parenting, supporting and understanding children with ADHD and neurodivergent needs.
What These Talks Explore
The sessions are designed to feel supportive, relatable and reassuring rather than clinical or judgmental. Ryan shares lived experience insight into what ADHD can actually feel like internally — helping parents better understand behaviours, emotions and challenges that are often misunderstood. Topics often include:
Understanding your child's ADHD
Emotional regulation & overwhelm
Reducing shame & blame
Recognising strengths in neurodivergence
Building confidence & resilience
Creating supportive home environments
Supporting mental wellbeing
Understanding masking & burnout
Why These Talks Matter
Many parents often feel unheard, blamed or isolated while trying to support a neurodivergent child within systems that may not fully understand ADHD. Ryan speaks openly about his own experiences growing up undiagnosed and the impact understanding can have on a young person’s confidence, identity and wellbeing. The talks help families feel validated, supported and less alone in their experiences.
The Outcome
Parents often leave the sessions feeling relieved, reassured and more confident in understanding their child’s experiences. The sessions encourage more supportive conversations around ADHD while helping reduce stigma, shame and misunderstanding within families and communities.
