Ryan's ADHD Journey
For much of his life, Ryan experienced the challenges of ADHD without fully understanding why. Like many people with undiagnosed ADHD, he was often labelled as distracted, disruptive or not living up to his potential, without anyone recognising the deeper reasons behind those struggles.
ADHD is far more than difficulty concentrating. It can affect emotional regulation, confidence, relationships, education and everyday life. Many people with ADHD spend years feeling misunderstood, frustrated or different, often blaming themselves for challenges they cannot explain.
As Ryan gained a deeper understanding of ADHD, he began to make sense of experiences that had shaped much of his life. He also discovered that ADHD brings strengths alongside its challenges, including creativity, resilience, passion and the ability to think differently.
That journey inspired the creation of You, Me & ADHD. Through honest storytelling, humour and lived experience, Ryan helps schools, families and organisations better understand neurodiversity while challenging stereotypes and reducing stigma.
At its heart, the campaign exists to replace judgement with understanding, helping people with ADHD feel seen, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

Common ADHD Misconseptions
"ADHD just means you can't focus"
ADHD isn’t about having no focus. It’s about struggling to control focus. One minute the brain feels completely scattered, and the next minute someone can hyperfocus for hours on something they’re passionate about. ADHD is much deeper than simply “not paying attention.”
"People grow out of ADHD"
Most people don’t simply grow out of ADHD. They often grow up learning how to mask it, hide it or battle through it silently. Many adults only realise later in life that ADHD has been affecting them the entire time.
"ADHD is just bad behaviour"
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, emotional regulation, impulsivity and executive functioning. What may look like laziness, defiance or a lack of focus is often the result of a brain that processes information differently.
